Temporary Transitional Housing

Program Overview

In partnership with the New York City Department of Homeless Services (DHS), Housing Solutions of New York operates 12 Tier II Transitional Housing facilities and 6 commercial hotel sites across four boroughs. HSNY’s Temporary Transitional Housing program provides safe, stable housing for individuals and families experiencing homelessness as they work toward permanent housing solutions.

HSNY also operates a Welcome Center for New Yorkers experiencing street homelessness, offering immediate shelter and connection to essential services. From the moment clients arrive, they are supported with resources and care that help them begin their journey toward stability and long-term housing.

Who We Serve

HSNY’s Temporary Transitional Housing program serves families with children, and single adult men. Across 18 shelter facilities, HSNY supports more than 2,500 clients at any given time.

The populations we serve include individuals and families from the general shelter population as well as asylum seekers. Regardless of background or circumstance, the program is designed to empower clients as they work toward permanent housing and greater independence.

Impact & Benefits
